Deserts of the Southwest
I wish that all of nature’s magnificence, the emotion of the land, the living energy of place could be photographed.
- Annie Leibovitz
Personally, I find the southwestern U.S. - specifically the area of Southern Utah - to be a place like no other. My first exposure to this diverse land of arches, bridges, hoodoos and canyons was in 2006. It was a life-changing experience. As the saying goes, I was smitten. Since that time I have set a rather lofty goal of exploring and photographing as many locations as possible. It’s a tall order, considering the abundance of potential sites, but it’s an enjoyable challenge. Following is a sampling of my achievements so far. I hope these images convey a sense of place.
